Old-fashioned hospitality

This lovely old hotel is so different from the ubiquitous impersonal marble and glass modern accomodation offered elsewhere. On arrival we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. We stayed overnight mid-week in the main building. The bedrooms were spacious, with high ceilings. The beds were wonderfully comfortable with crisp linen and firm pillows. Although our rooms were on the ground floor facing the main road, the double glazing provided a quiet environment. Breakfast next morning was a very pleasant experience: fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, bacon and eggs cooked to order. This visit evoked memories of a gentler pace of life, where old-fashioned courtesy and good service were important.  You will enjoy a comfortable night and leave with a warm feeling.
